FRANSABANK advances from the 5th to the 4th position in terms of net profit in the year 2002
The new annual survey of Bank Data Financial Services indicated that FRANSABANK has maintained its 7 th position in terms of total footings (USD3.6 billion in 2002) between 2001 and 2002, among Lebanese banks. It also maintained its 6 th position in terms of its assets, which totaled USD3.4 billion, and advancing in its market share from 6% in 2001 to 6.1% in 2002. The Bank also maintained its 7 th position among Lebanese banks in terms of its credit portfolio (USD689.4 million in 2002) with a market share of 4.9% in 2002 against 4.8% in 2001. FRANSABANK maintained its sixth position in terms of customers’ deposits, which totaled USD2.7 billion in 2002, and also its market share 6%. Also, it maintained its fifth position in terms of shareholders’ equity, which reached USD269.7 million in 2002, and advancing in its market share from 7% in 2001 to 7.1% in 2002. FRANSABANK advanced in its branch network from the seventh position in 2001 to the fifth position in 2002, which totaled 52 branches in 2002. The Bank maintained its fifth position in terms of net financial income, which totaled USD87.7 million in 2002, and advancing in its market share form 6.2% in 2001 to 6.5% in 2002. Also, FRANSABANK advanced from the fifth position to the fourth position between 2001 and 2002 in terms of profit which totaled USD36.4 million, and advancing in its market share from 9.5% to 12.1% between the two said periods. In addition, FRANSABANK advanced from the 22 nd position to the 19 th position between 2001 and 2002 in terms of capital adequacy, which totaled 23.2% in 2002. Also, it advanced from the 24 th position to the 20 th position in terms of shareholders’ equity to total assets, with a ratio of 7.89% in 2002. The Bank further advanced from the ninth position to the eighth position in terms of cost-to-income ratio, which totaled 49.66% in 2002.
