FRANSABANK Group held a press conference in collaboration with JADCO, the Association of Mayors of Byblos Towns and "Ameen" company, at Edde Sands Resort Jbeil, to announce the names of beneficiaries of the full grants and 0% interest credits offer for "Maan” micro-credit project.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Philippe El Hajj Deputy General Manager of FRANSABANK, Association of Mayors of Byblos Towns in the person of its President Mayor Suleiman Ghattas, Dr. Tony Issa from JADCO, Mr. Ziad Halabi General Manager of "Ameen" company, Mayors of Jbeil District, Board members of JADCO along a crowd of journalists and media representatives. Executives from FRANSABANK were also present.
The press conference came as a fulfillment to FRANSABANK’s promise which it took a year ago while launching its “Maan” micro-credit to offer full grants and loans at 0% interest rate. In fact, 100 beneficiaries were offered their credits during the press conference: 25 in a form of grants reaching a total of LBP 37,500,000; and the other 75 in the form of 0% interest credits with an accumulated value of LBP 112,500,000.
During the press conference, Mr. Hajj promised that FRANSABANK intends to expand its experience to other Lebanese regions with a strong commitment to “spread the wealth” to help as many individuals as possible regardless of their location. FRANSABANK indeed has placed a special emphasis on its micro credit strategy because it strongly believes that small-scale lending can make a difference to the world. That is why it has adopted an aggressive micro financing approach in an attempt to break the viscous circle of poverty in Lebanon and ensure sustainable growth at all levels.
All present gathered for a luncheon event by the end of the press conference.
