FRANSABANK advances 7 ranks in the list of Top 1000 International Banks according to Banker Magazine, and 5 ranks in the list of Top 100 Arab Banks in terms of total assets for the year 2003 according to Union of Arab Banks Magazine

FRANSABANK advanced 7 ranks from the 792 nd position in 2002 to the 785 th position in 2003 in terms of its size or total assets in the Banker’s list of Top 1000 International Banks issued in August 2004. The Bank’s assets reached more than USD 4 billion in 2003, growing by 17.7% from 2002. FRANSABANK also advanced from the 343 rd position in 2002 to the 325 th position in 2003, in terms of performance or the return on average capital which was 20.3% in 2003 against 19.8% in 2002. The Banker’s survey reveals that FRANSABANK enjoys a high level of capital adequacy by regional and international standards. Capital adequacy reached 29.97% in 2003. The Bank’s cost-to-income ratio was 37.23% in 2003. As for FRANSABANK’s position among the five Lebanese banks included in the Banker’s survey, the Bank ranked first in terms of return on assets in 2003, the second in terms of return on equity, and third in terms of capitalization. On the other hand, FRANSABANK advanced five ranks from the 53 rd position in 2002 to the 48 th position in 2003 in terms of total assets in the ‘Union of Arab Banks’ Magazine (Ittihad Al-Masaref Al-Arabiya) Top 100 Arab Banks issued in September 2004.
