Roads for Life

According to the latest World Health Organization (WHO) data published in 2017 Road Traffic Accidents Deaths in Lebanon reached 1,129 or 3.34% of total deaths. In view of that, we, at Fransabank, believe in the necessity to extend road safety awareness and optimize the chances of survival for victims of road accidents.

As such, Roads for Life, in its mission to provide Post Trauma Care services through its ATLS® courses to doctors in emergency rooms, has been receiving our annual financial support since 2011. Their program to the “Golden Period of Trauma” or the timeframe in which a life can be saved, has been widely spread across all Lebanese regions covering ER doctors from both the public and private sectors.

In 2019, the course reached 64 ER doctors trained from 19 different hospitals. Since 2011, more than 650 ER Doctors across Lebanon have been trained; and subsequently obtained certificates in collaboration with the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC).In addition, 84 medics from various branches of the Lebanese Armed Forces were trained via four Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC). These achievements will play a key role in making ATLS mandatory for the accreditation of Hospital ER rooms that is currently being planned by the Ministry of Health.

Roads for Life had also partnered with Hypco gas stations; providing drivers that wish to extend their support with "My Way” Hypco Loyalty Card. By joining this program, employees willingly contributed in ensuring that trauma patients all over Lebanon are receiving a high quality prehospital patient care. All they had to do is to join the loyalty program, fill their vehicle tanks at Hypco stations, swipe the loyalty card through the designated machine and enter the number of litres filled. The more they fill at Hypco the higher the accumulate points and so the bestowment.

Fransabank believes that with contributing in such social responsibility initiatives, results can be achieved to reinforce every citizen’s right to life.
